Pav Bhaji:



Pav bhaji is a Maharashtrian probably Indian popular street food. Bhaji is a delicious mixure of veggies cooked in butter and spices which is served with pav. The pav is usually buttered on all sides which tastes better. If you have never made pav bhaji in life, and yet always marvelled at the sheer genius of the dish, we have a recipe that will finally convince you to don apron after all.


 You can also try these food dishes which can be make easily at home.


Ingredients:

  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 3 Capsicum
  • 3 Potatoes
  • 3 onions
  • ½ bottle gaurd
  • ¼ kg cauliflower
  • ¼ kg Green peas
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Ginger-garlic
  • Butter
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Red Chilli powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Pav Bhaji masala

 

Instructions:

·       Cooked Potatoes, Cauliflower, bottle gaurd, green peas in pressure cooker till 4-5 whistles.

·       After all the vegetables are cooked well then mashed all the vegetables together with the help of potato masher.

·       Chopped onion, Tomatoes, and Capsicum in very small pieces.

·       Make a paste of garlic and ginger with the help of grinder.

·       Take a pan, add 4-5 tablespoon oil. Add muster seeds and curry leaves in oil.

·       After 4-5 second add chopped onion and stir until it gets golden brown colour. Then add Ginger-Garlic paste and mix it well.

·       After mixing it well add chopped tomatoes in the mixture, and Stir 4-5 minutes until the oil is released from this mixture.

·       After that add Capsicum in this mixture and stir for the 4-5 minutes.

·       Now, let’s move on to the spices first we add ½ tablespoon  Turmeric powder, 2 tablespoon(also u can add more or less red chilli powder depends on your taste) Red chilli powder, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, and finally add pav bhaji masala as per your quantity. Add salt as per your taste.

·       After this add mashed vegetables in the pan and mix it well.

·       After mixing it add some boiled water in the bhaji, let the vegetables boil for 2 minutes, and add butter cube in that bhaji.

·       By taste, it you want to add more chilli powder and salt then you can add it.

·       Decorate it with coriander leaves and chopped onion. You can also decorated it with cheese.

·       Now, serve it with buttered pav and enjoy  it.



You can also try this another recipe of pav bhaji which is very delicious and easy to make. This can be make at special occasions like birthday parties, or giving treat etc. Follow the following instructions to make the delicious pavbhaji let’s start to see the ingredients.


The ingredients for this recipe are potatoes. I have three potatoes cut into large chunks. 

There are the dried green peas that I have soaked overnight. You can also use the fresh peas but this dried peas gives a unique flavor.

 Then I have three chopped tomatoes, one large chopped onion, some carrots, this is the kasoori methi, cilantro, I have some green chilies. 

Two green chilies. Three to four large cloves of garlic. I have one bell pepper cut into pieces.

 Some butter, oil, and this is pav bhaji masala, this is about three to four teaspoons of pav bhaji masala. This is one teaspoon of red chili powder or Deggi Mirch powder, kashmiri lal mirch just for color. 

Some tomato puree for color and a teaspoon of salt. One to one and half teaspoons this is depending on your taste and I have one squeezed lime. And the most important thing is pav. 

First thing you need to do is boil all these vegetables. First thing you have to add the green peas, then you have to add the chopped potatoes. Then wash all these vegetables. Then just putting these in. Here. 

Then goes the carrots. And the bell peppers. Apart from that You need to add these cloves of garlic. Green chilies. And a lit bit of water. Then you have to pressure cook this for about 10, 15 minutes for four to five whistles. 

So while the vegetables are boiling or cooking in the pressure cooker, let's make the tadka for the bhaji. First goes in the oil. Heat the pan as well. 

Let the oil heat. After oil is heating add the onions. (pan sizzling) Let's cook the onions to just slightly brown. 

The onions are brown, and now we add the tomatoes. (pan sizzling) Saute the tomato. And we also add the paste. Tomato puree. (pan sizzling) Now you have to mix everything together. 

Let the tomatoes cook. We also add the red chili powder and the salt. Along with the pav bahji masala. And the kasoori methi. 

Kasoori methi is a secret ingredient which gives a very delicious flavor. And now I just cover it and keep it for about five minutes. 

So while the tomatoes are sauteing let's see if the vegetables are cooked. Yeah, and then with this pav bhaji masher you just mash these vegetables. 

You don't have to make a fine paste but at least course paste. So you've mashed all the vegetables that you had in this and you need to now mix it in the onions and tomatoes. Okay, so let's see. 

Our tomatoes have been cooking and now you have to add this paste into this. So now you have to mix everything together. 

While boiling the vegetables in the pressure cooker you have to add a teaspoon or two teaspoons of salt. And a little bit of salt in the bhaji as well. 

So you just mix everything and add some butter as well. Because pav bhaji has a lot of butter. So don't be scared to use butter. And you have to add a little bit of cilantro. 

Now you just cover this and keep it for about five, 10 minutes so all the masalas and the vegetables infuse with each other.

 So our bhaji has been cooking, and after that add the lime juice in it. And I generally use the Badshah brand pav bhaji masala but you can use any brand.  

And you can also add some food colour if you want to, but I haven't added any. So now let's toast the pav. So we take this tava and heat it. 

You can add some butter. Let the butter melt. You can also add some cilantro leaves. And some red chili powder.

 Now place these pavs that you've cut into pieces. And the pav bhaji is now ready. A quick, delicious, and easy pav bhaji is now ready.
